Update 0.7.2 for Android

Oh my gosh, Android releases are such a pain in the butt. Oh well. Here's update 0.7.2, released for the Android version only. It addresses some om the problems reported with the game not getting past the load screen, and instability in the game.

I've tested it on my own Galaxy S9, that was having troubles with the previous builds too, and I was able to speed skip (for extra stress) over two of the heaviest scenes in Chapter 7 with this version without hiccups, so I'm fairly confident this solves those issues for a lot of people.

But there are some caveats, see the release notes below (seriously, do have a look at them).

Light of my Life 0.7.2 (Android only).
  • Built using ren'py 8.1.1, which is based on python 3.9 (instead of 2.7) and seems to be better behaved when it comes to memory management.
  • If you cannot install the game, please note you need about three times the APK size free storage to install it, and to allow it to unpack itself when you first run it.
  • If you still cannot get past the load screen, or are seeing instability and frequent crashes while playing, free up RAM(*). Go into Settings->Device Care->Memory, and close any programs that are taking up a lot of memory. If you cannot free up enough (and honestly, it's a bit like playing whack-a-mole), consider finding a tool in the Play Store that helps you free up more.
  • Considerations on using RAM+ for devices that support it. Note that it's a neat way to add additional *virtual* RAM, but that RAM is actually repurposed storage, and that means it's dead slow. On the one hand, it might be just what you need to get the game running, on the other hand, it might just be what is causing lagging and glitching in your playthrough.

*In my successful tests, I had about 1.7GB of free RAM available. That's not a minimum requirement, it very well might work fine with less, but I didn't test that.

I was thinking. Some developers decided to chop up their games in parts if it got to big for phone users. Perhaps chopping it up in chapter 1 to 4 (part 1) and chapter 5 to 7 (part 2) or something might resolve the memory issue. Just an idea. It might make the size more manageable of each part (and below the maximum size without sacrificing too much quality).

Thank you.

Beautiful work dude. Just Beautiful.

How many chapters left? And will we have to wait as long for the next one?

No man, it keeps giving an error when opening, there's no use in ram memory... strange that version 6.4 works very well.

Strangest thing happened. I got a new phone but the backup didn't work and i lost all my games from itch.io and all my photos. Yet, somehow when I downloaded your game again my recent saves were there on the new phone (I had played part of the newest version on my old phone) is this because of how you set this game up somehow?

Side note, I love the content as always but that scene in the bathroom, right after going down on Denise, gave myself blue balls lol. The idea of a soaking wet pussy, just inches away from his rock hard errection and not putting it in, gave me anxiety lol.

I'll be giving this version a go. Thank you.

Edit: First try. Well... after a couple of minutes (yes, minutes once again) it showed the "let's take a moment to calibrate your screen" message and.... crashes.

Second try. After a couple of minutes again it showed the same message, and this time I was able to get past it, reaching the main menu of the game.  Fingers crossed I'll be able to keep playing, but it seems to be running (for) now.

Edit part two: It runs, but it also crashes every couple of minutes or so. It's very unstable and every time I restart it's back to waiting minutes of loading the main menu. It's an improvement as the game will actually run, but compared to the previous build I had on my phone it's a huge step backwards. I could play that version hours on end without any crashes.
